BCNET ESG Strategy
After Reeve developed BCNET’s Sustainable Procurement Strategy and Action Plan in Spring 2023, BCNET wanted to enhance its service to members by strengthening its internal sustainability efforts. Recognizing the need for a more comprehensive approach, BCNET prioritized the development of an ESG Strategy to embed sustainability across its operations, driving improvements in environmental performance, social responsibility, and ethical governance.
To develop a robust ESG Strategy for BCNET, Reeve conducted the following:
- Engaged in in-depth stakeholder consultations with staff, the Ministry of Education and Training, and peer organizations to understand their priorities and expectations.
- Conducted greenhouse gas emissions accounting for BCNET’s scope 2 and 3 emissions.
- Identified key material issues most relevant to BCNET and its stakeholders.
- Hosted strategy workshops to align on BCNET’s goals, key performance indicators and priority material issues.
- Develop an action plan outlining the implementation of the ESG strategy, including timelines, resource requirements, and responsibilities.
Through this partnership with Reeve, BCNET now has an operational ESG Strategy that minimizes its environmental impact while maximizing its positive contributions to the community. By establishing a baseline, Reeve Consulting developed a three-year action plan to guide BCNET’s initiatives across the environmental, social, and governance pillars- from reducing carbon emissions to improving employee well-being and responsible oversight of the organization.
